Principal/Mission

I am so excited to be a part of the Rising Star Community! 

This year will mark my 15^th year in education. My teaching background is mostly intermediate grades for the first half of my career. I joined the Shawnee Mission Team as an Instructional Coach for 5 years, and then as an Administrative Intern at Comanche and Rosehill for 2 ½ years. I am ecstatic to begin my 11^th year in SMSD and my 4^th year as Principal of Rising Star, and to continue our focus on building strong and authentic relationships with students, staff, parents, and our community partners.

I am passionate about ensuring high levels of learning for ALL students, fostering social-emotional growth, and creating a safe and inclusive school environment for our students, staff, and community. Rising Star is a school full of amazing, diverse students, a positive and dedicated staff, and strong community relationships.  I look forward to the years to come in supporting learning and working to meet the needs of all students here at Rising Star, YOU belong here!
